COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The 21st-ranked Western Nebraska Community College women's basketball team put five players in double figures in registering their 19th win of the season with a 75-56 win over Air Force Prep Thursday evening in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
The win pushes the Cougars to 19-3 on the season and gets the team back on the winning track after falling to Otero Junior College on Saturday 68-58. WNCC will be back in action Tuesday when they host Northeastern Junior College in a South Division contest.
Thursday evening, the Cougars shot 65 percent from the field. WNCC held a slim 44-38 lead at halftime, but opened up the contest in the second half, outscoring Air Force 31-18 for the win.
WNCC was led by Kalli Feddersen with 17 points, including five boards, five assists, and a perfect 5 of 5 from the charity stripe.
Also collecting double-digit scoring was Bree Paulson and Ozge Yarga with 12 points each followed by 11 from Myriam Garcia, and 10 from Hannah Sparks. Sparks also dished off five assists, while Sladjana Rakovic and Yarga each had three assists.
Rakovic paced the team on the boards with seven boards, while Paulson yanked down six and Feddersen with five.
