WNCC offering evening volleyball clinics, June basketball camps

WNCC offering evening volleyball clinics beginning this Thursday 

                The Western Nebraska Community College volleyball team is offering five evening volleyball clinics through the month of April for girls in elementary and middle school.

                The cost of each skills clinic is just $40 per camp and runs from 6-8 p.m. The skill camps will be instructed by WNCC coaches Fatima Balza and Jayla Brehmer along with the Cougar volleyball players.

                The first skills camp is slated for Thursday, April 2 and it will focus on basic skills with the main focus on serving.

                The other skill camps include Thursday, April 9 for basic skills with focus on attacking and a second camp on Friday, April 10 on basic skills with focus on attacking. Monday, April 27 will have a camp on basic skills with focus on defense with the final camp slated for Thursday, April 30 which is basic skills with focus on serve receive.

                Campers can sign up online through the WNCC athletic website at wnccathletics.com and click the WNCC Athletic Events Banner. The camps are limited to around 25 girls per night.

WNCC offering 3-day basketball camps in June 

                The Western Nebraska Community College men's and women's basketball coaches will be holding a 3-day basketball camp Monday-Wednesday, June 1-3 at Cougar Palace.

                The cost of the camp is $120 and includes a T-shirt. The camp is for both boys and girls in grades K-8. Grades K-4 will run from 9 a.m. to 12 noon while grades 5-8 will be from 1:30 – 4:30 p.m.

                The camp will be conducted by women's coaches Ryan Davis and Shyane Poirot and men's coaches Roybell Baez and Trey Winkler.
