Fayne named to Region IX All-Tournament team
                 Western Nebraska Community College's Phil Fayne was the only Cougar to receive post-season honors after the regional tournament.

                Fayne, a 6-9 post player from Elk Grove, California, was named to the Region IX All-tournament team. Fayne had a big contest in the quarterfinal loss to Casper College last week. Fayne scored 16 points in the loss.

                Other members of the Region IX Men's all-tournament team include LJ Westbrook, Gerad Davis, and Deante Strickland of Casper; Deishaun Booker, Cameron Oluyitan, Derrick Farguharson, and Kavel Bigby-Williams of Gillette; Diontae Champion of North Platte; MOntenia Nelson of Miles; Ryan Jones and Marcus Copper of NJC; Nicholas Anderson of Central Wyoming; and Brandon Book, Brandon Wilson, and Vince Holmes of Otero.

                The Division I Men's Basketball All-region team was released on Saturday after the championship game. No Cougar or EWC player made all-region.

                All-Region first team includes Kavell Bigby of Gillette, Gerad Davis of Casper, Chris Lewis of Lamar, DJ Miles of Otero, Gavin Peppers of Laramie County, and Pablo Rivas of Sheridan.

                Second team All-Region honors were Marqueese Grayson and Cameron Oluyitan of Gillette, Jacob Holland of Otero, Robert Jones of NJC, Jarred Laws of Western Wyoming, LJ Westbrook of Casper, and Chris Williams of Trinidad.

                Third team honors were Treyvon Andres of Trinidad, Jon Bummyer of Lamar, Grantham Gillard of Northwest, Tyree Peter of North Platte, Jalen Shepard of Miles, and Deante Strickland of Casper.

                Region IX coaches of the year went to Shawn Neary of Gillette in the North and Otero's Houston Reed in the South.
